Fact Sheet Guidelines
1. Use as info for media AND as sales tools
2. Preferably one page in length – up to 3 pages if needed
3. Less narration and more bullet points, numbering
4. Focus on one specific topic / type of fact sheet
5. Your logo and contact info / header at the top
Types of Fact Sheets
1. How To (describing a step-by-step process i.e. How to Become a Member, How to donate in-kind items)
2. Statistical (showing company or industry statistics or statistics about your organizational results)
3. Advocacy (a call to action describing a problem and inviting people to participate i.e. discussing a new bill or resolution or other social issue etc. that affects your constituents and inviting people to write to their congresspeople or sign a petition)
4. Philosophy / Beliefs (an opportunity to let people know how your nonprofit stands on certain issues – can also be called Position Statements)
